Over the past several years many health organizations
including the National Institute of Health have found a direct
correlation between heart rate during exercise and a person’s
aerobic fitness level. Swimming provides a full-body workout without
the harsh joint-fatiguing effects of high-impact sports. In the
past, a swimmer’s only way of monitoring heart rate has
been to stop and manually take their pulse with fingers and a
stopwatch. The AquaBeat Heart Rate Monitor was conceived to halt
this antiquated technique and provide a more convenient and seamless
method of monitoring heart rate. The AquaBeat workout experience
begins by choosing or personalizing a workout using our easy to
use, full-feature, graphical user interface. Once the swimmer
starts the workout, his heart rate data is sent to a personal
computer using cutting-edge wireless technology where it is saved
for later comparison of the swimmer’s actual versus target
heart rate. The swimmer will stay within his target heart rate
range by adjusting the intensity of the workout in response to
three Light Emitted Diodes (LEDs), strategically positioned inside
the goggle eyecup as to not interfere with sight, but to be easily
seen with peripheral vision. With the AquaBeat heart rate monitoring
system any swimmer can achieve a perfect workout. |
