Pros / Cons

One of the processes that SLS is often compared to is SLA. SLS is better in that it never enounters the 'trapped volume' prolem present in SLA, and the its self-supporting nature means that there are no rigid supports to be hand removed from underhangs. The polymers available to SLS are also more structurally sound than the photocuring polymers in SLA.

However, SLA offers the advantage of higher accuracy, and smoother upper surfaces.
