Pros / Cons

The main advantage of the CybetCut system is that it reduces the time from the conceptual design to the actual manufacturing (machining) of the product.

It is, however, restricted to 3-axes milling and drilling manufacturing operations.

As we have described in the More Info page, two routes can be followed. Each has its advantages and disadvantages.

WebCAD

Its main advantage is that manufacturing is guaranteed. However, WebCAD lacks the variety of construction methods available to a standard commercial CAD tool, and thus may feel restrictive to a dasigner. This is a tradeoff for improved manufacturability of the final design.

Generic CAD

Its main advantages are that it permits flexible input (design files) and it provides more options for the process planner software ( in that it is not restricted to follow the same way the features were created by the designer). However, there is no guaranty of manufacturability during the design phase.
