Pros / Cons
Advantages:
- Suitable for casting high-melting-point alloys with a good surface
finish and close tolerances.
- Little or no finishing
is required, which otherwise would add significantly to the total
cost of the casting.
- High degree of design
freedom. Complex shapes that would be too costly to machine can
be produced quickly and economically as investment castings.
